Bouwinvest doubles size of Dutch Senior Living Impact Fund to €263.5 million

The Dutch Senior Living Impact Fund is a core SFDR Article 9 investment fund focused on high-quality and sustainable senior housing in the Netherlands. The fund invests in assisted living, private residential care and intramural care complexes across the country.

Committed capital has more than doubled since the first closing, confirming the confidence of institutional investors in care real estate as an impact asset class. Our ambition is to grow the fund further to €500 million in the years ahead."

Contributing to the senior housing challenge with clear impact targets
With defined impact targets and measurable KPIs, the fund addresses an urgent social challenge while pursuing stable long-term returns. The Dutch Government estimates that approximately 290,000 additional homes for older adults will be needed by 2030. By investing in appropriate senior housing, the fund contributes to the independence, safety and wellbeing of older adults. At the same time, it supports housing market mobility by releasing existing properties for other target groups.

This approach is already taking concrete shape within the portfolio. The fund has recently completed acquisitions in Soesterberg and Hilversum. In Soesterberg, it acquired Het Kwartier, a residential project comprising 104 assisted-living apartments. The fund also signed for the purchase of De Sigarenfabriek in Hilversum, a private residential care complex with over 70 care studio apartments, subject to a long-term lease with Stichting Hilverzorg.
